The following highlights key projects and initiatives approved at the most recent Board of Supervisors meeting, that directly impact the Fifth District.

Item #79 – $6.59M in Encampment Resolution Funding for Days Inn San Bernardino

The Board of Supervisors have approved $6.6 million in funding for the operation of the Days Inn San Bernardino which will be turned into 50 units of interim housing for individuals experiencing homelessness, including people living in encampments along the I-210 corridor in San Bernardino and Highland. The fudnding will cover:

  • Property management and operations
  • Supportive services for residents
  • Keeping rents affordable
  • Ensuring the project remains financially sustainable

Item #91 – $3M from Yuhaviaatam of San Manuel Nation for Pacific Village Phase II

This grant funding will increase the total project budget would increase from $14.8 million to $17.8 million and will fund the following:

  • Outdoor gathering spaces
  • Covered walkways between buildings
  • Campus-wide directional signage (wayfinding)
  • Therapeutic landscaping and green spaces
  • Shared community areas that support resident wellness and connection

Item #101 – Rosena Ranch Fire Station Moves Forward

The Rosena Ranch Fire Station is receiving a $4 million budget adjustment for necessary costs. The new station will help:

  • Improve emergency response times
  • Increase fire and EMS coverage
  • Better serve Rosena Ranch and Devore residents
  • Support future growth in the area

Item #105 – MOU with San Bernardino City Unified for Mobile Dental Services

This non-financial mou between San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) and the county’s Department of Public Health (DPH) will allow DPH’s mobile clinics to provide dental and immunization services directly at schools for SBCUSD students. Services will include:

Dental Services

  • Screenings and assessments
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Preventive dental care
  • Oral health education
  • X-rays and comprehensive exams
  • Cleanings
  • Sealants
  • Fillings
  • Emergency dental services

Immunization Services

  • Vaccine eligibility screening
  • Administration of recommended vaccines
  • Recording vaccinations in California’s immunization registry
  • Providing proof of vaccination
  • Recommending additional vaccines when appropriate

Item #153 – Three School Resource Officers for Bloomington High School

Three School Resource Officers approved for Bloomington High School, helping ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for students and staff.
