The following highlights key projects and initiatives approved at the most recent Board of Supervisors meeting that directly impact the Fifth District.

Expanded Nutrition Program for Older Adults in San Bernardino

San Bernardino County’s Department of Aging and Adult Services has extended its contract with the City of San Bernardino to continue the Older Californians Nutrition Program, adding $375,000 in funding and expanding services through June 2026. The program’s scope of work has expanded to include additional nutrition services, such as more group dining opportunities, expanded home-delivered meal routes, and added wellness and nutrition education activities.

A new Library Animaker Space is coming to the Rialto Branch Library

This $2.6 million investment will bring hands-on STEAM programs (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), new equipment, and training for library staff — giving kids and families the chance to learn real-world skills and spark creativity.

Funded through the Library Enhancement Reserve, this project builds on our successful partnership with Garner Holt Education Through Imagination in Fontana and will inspire innovation for years to come.
