The following highlights key projects and initiatives approved at the most recent Board of Supervisors meeting that directly impact the Fifth District.
Item #43 Agua Mansa hires New Field School Instructor in Partnership with CSUSB
San Bernardino County will be acquiring the services of Jean Pickard as the new Field School Instructor at Agua Mansa Pioneer Cemetery in Colton. This initiative will aid archaeology students from Cal State San Bernardino.
Item #67 $404,178 Contract Awarded for Olive St. Project in the Colton Area
This project will involve sidewalk construction, curb and gutter, installation and replacement of streetlights, in accordance with current design standards and ADA guidelines. The Project is located on Olive Street, from approximately Jackson Street to North Rancho Avenue.
Item #68 Cooperative Agreement with the City of San Bernardino for Street Repairs, Maintenance, and Emergency Work
The agreement will allow the Coutny and City to share labor, equipment, and resources for road maintenance and emergency repairs when it’s more cost-effective and faster. Work may include street and highway repairs, fencing, drainage, grading, soil stabilization, storm cleanup, striping, chip sealing, and paving.
Item #112 Cooperative Agreement with the City of San Bernardino for Flood Control Maintenance
The agreement will allow mutual support for minor flood control repairs, maintenance, and emergency work within city limits. The agreement caps costs at $60,000 per project and $100,000 per fiscal year.
Item #114 New Swing Sets Coming to Ayala Park in Bloomington
Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. has allocated $67,038 to the $267,038 project which will bring two brand-new swing sets to Ayala Park. This investment comes at the request of community members.
