On Tuesday, San Bernardino County Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr., proudly unveiled the Ayala Park Veterans Monument—a powerful, community-driven tribute to honor the bravery, sacrifice, and service of all who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces.
Located in the heart of Bloomington’s Ayala Park, the newly completed monument stands as a bold symbol of unity and perseverance. The design features a striking silhouette of the iconic Iwo Jima Flag Raising set against a proud American flag—capturing the collective strength, courage, and triumph of our nation’s service members.
Crafted from Corten Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Concrete, the monument is built to last. Six individual Satellite Monument Blocks, each adorned with the official seal of a U.S. military branch—Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, and Space Force—circle the centerpiece, ensuring that every service member is represented and honored.
Etched into the monument are the words “All Gave Some, Some Gave All,” a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made in defense of our freedom. At night, the monument is fully illuminated, highlighting the American flag and figures.
The project was championed by local Army veteran and Bloomington community leader Dave Jayne, whose passion and advocacy made this vision a reality. “It’s hard to put into words what this monument means. For those of us who have served, it represents something deeply personal. Thank you to Supervisor Baca for making this into a reality,” Jayne said.
San Bernardino County Vice Chair and Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr., who allocated $180,000 in funding for the monument, shared his appreciation for the community’s role in bringing the project to life. “This monument reflects the gratitude of the Bloomington community and entire County of San Bernardino. We are proud to provide a space where residents can come to remember and honor those who gave everything for our country.”
The unveiling ceremony was attended by residents, veterans, and dignitaries, including Assemblymember Robert Garcia, and representatives from the offices of Congressman Pete Aguilar and Senator Eloise Gómez Reyes.
The Ayala Park Veterans Monument now stands as a permanent fixture of honor and remembrance—a place where generations can pay tribute to the legacy of those who have served.
