Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. has allocated $100,000 from his discretionary funding to support the City of Colton and the Colton Police Department in purchasing and equipping a new animal care services vehicle.
“The Colton Police Department appreciates the continued support from 5th District Supervisor Joe Baca Jr.,” said Colton Police Chief Anthony Vega. “The funding his office awarded our department will be instrumental in ensuring rescued animals are secured and transported with care and compassion.”
Colton Mayor Frank Navarro added, “On behalf of the City of Colton, I want to sincerely thank County Supervisor Joe Baca Jr. for his ongoing support. This funding for a new Animal Control Vehicle is a tremendous benefit to our community. It will not only improve the care and wellbeing of animals but also ensure the safety of our Animal Control Officers as they serve and protect residents.”
The new vehicle will allow Animal Control Officers to safely and humanely rescue, secure, and transport animals in need. For residents, this means faster response times, safer neighborhoods, and stronger protections for both animals and families.
“Supporting animal care services is an important part of creating safe and compassionate communities,” said Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. “This investment gives the City of Colton and its Police Department the tools they need to protect animals while serving the residents who depend on these vital services.”
Together, the County and the City are making an investment in safer streets, healthier communities, and compassionate care for animals across Colton.
