San Bernardino County Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr., in partnership with City Way Community Economic Development Corporation and the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office, proudly hosted the Job Fair & Community Resource Day today, drawing more than 1,000 attendees from across the region.

The event featured 20 hiring employers representing a variety of industries, offering hundreds of immediate employment opportunities. In addition to on-the-spot interviews and job openings, attendees had access to a wide range of community resources—from housing and health services to education and workforce training programs.

Ray Blom, President at City Way Community Economic Development Corporation, said, “We believe in creating spaces where people can come as they are and leave with renewed hope and practical resources. Today’s turnout shows the deep need in our community and the power of collaboration to meet it.”

A highlight of the day was the on-site expungement services, giving individuals the opportunity to clear eligible records and remove barriers to employment, housing, and educational advancement. Approximately 300 expungements and 123 court cases were processed during the event.

San Bernardino County Public Defender Thomas W. Sone emphasized the importance of the legal services offered at the event: “Expungements can be life changing. It opens the door to jobs, housing, and education that may have been out of reach. We are proud to work alongside our partners to remove these barriers and help our residents move forward.”

“This event was about more than just jobs—it was about hope, opportunity, and giving people the tools they need to succeed,” said Supervisor Baca, Jr. “I’m grateful to our incredible partners for coming together to serve our community and help residents take the next step toward a brighter future.”

Supervisor Baca, Jr. and partners plan to continue offering similar events to help residents achieve long-term stability and success.
