Families gathered at Ayala Park during this year’s Bloomington National Night Out to celebrate not only the strong partnership between the Bloomington community and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, but also the completion of significant park improvements designed to enhance the community’s favorite gathering place.
County officials and community members commemorated the ribbon cutting for eight new shade structures and a new swing set at Ayala Park, improvements made possible through a $936,479 investment from the Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr.’s Discretionary Fund.
These enhancements were completed in direct response to community feedback, reflecting the County’s commitment to investing in projects that improve quality of life for Bloomington residents.
The new shade structures provide much-needed relief from the sun, creating comfortable spaces for families to relax, watch their children play, and enjoy community events. The new swing set expands recreational opportunities for children, encouraging active play and making Ayala Park an even more welcoming destination for residents of all ages.
“These improvements are about listening to our community and delivering meaningful investments that families can enjoy for years to come,” said Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. “By adding shade and expanding playground amenities, we’re creating a more comfortable, accessible, and inviting park where neighbors can gather, children can play, and the community can continue to grow together.”
The County extends its appreciation to the residents who shared their feedback and helped shape these improvements, as well as everyone who attended National Night Out to celebrate another milestone for Bloomington.
