Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. hosted the Fifth District Commissioners Roundtable, bringing together commissioners for an evening of collaboration, resource-sharing, and district updates.
This year’s gathering highlighted ongoing and upcoming projects that are enhancing the quality of life for residents throughout Bloomington, Colton, Muscoy, Rialto, and San Bernardino. Conversations included updates on the Roadmap to Revitalization 2.0, census data on Fifth District communities, and jurisdiction maps—all aimed at equipping commissioners with the knowledge and resources to better serve their communities.
“Bringing our commissioners together allows us to share information, exchange ideas, and strengthen our collaboration,” said Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. “When we connect in this way, we are all better equipped to serve our residents and ensure they have access to the resources and support they need.”
Commissioners reflected on the value of the gathering, noting the importance of staying connected across different boards and having direct access to county updates and resources.
“You chose us with intentionality, and we thank you for the opportunity,” said Ralph Figueroa, Veterans Affairs Commission.
“We used to feel like the stepchild of the County, but thanks to Supervisor Baca, we don’t feel that way anymore—we have a voice,” said Diane Mendez, Bloomington MAC.
By bringing commissioners together, the Fifth District Commissioners Roundtable ensures that leaders remain informed, connected, and empowered to serve. The event reinforced a shared commitment to addressing community needs, delivering resources, and strengthening the connection between county government and the people it serves.
