The Fifth District proudly hosted its first Holiday Lunch at Ruth O. Harris Middle School, bringing holiday cheer, a warm meal, and festive activities to all 600 students.

The event introduced students to valuable County resources, spark interest in potential future career pathways, and provide families with helpful information to support student success both in and out of the classroom.

The Holiday Lunch was made possible through a partnership between Supervisor Baca and Tomorrow’s Leaders Foundation, all in the interest of providing In-N-Out meals for every student on campus.

“This event is about making sure every student feels included and cared for during the holiday season,” said Supervisor Baca. “No child should feel left out because of what their family can or cannot afford. Today, every student gets to share the same meal, the same fun, and the same joy—and that’s what community is all about.”

Staff and students enjoyed a festive lunchtime celebration complete with music, activities, and opportunities to connect with Fifth District representatives and community partners.

Assistant Superintendent Ortiz expressed gratitude for the partnership and support: “We are incredibly thankful for Supervisor Baca’s continued care for our students. His commitment to supporting our schools goes beyond events like this—he consistently shows up for our kids, our families, and our community.”

Students shared their excitement as well. Eight grader Tatiana said, “It was really cool that everyone got In-N-Out today! It made us realize how much people in our community really care about us.”

The Fifth District plans to continue its mission to create inclusive, uplifting celebrations for local students.
