The following highlights key projects and initiatives approved at the most recent Board of Supervisors meeting that directly impact the Fifth District.
$323,000 for Improvements in the City of Rialto
$203,000 will be going toward upgrades at the Carl Johnson Center Gym including floor resurfacing, replacement of oudated winches. and installing new bleachers. The additional $120,000 will go to renovating basketball courts and creating new pickleball courts at Fergusson Park.
MOU with San Bernardino Police Department and Code Enforcement for Flood Control Enforcement
This memorandum of understanding will allow City of San Bernardino Police and Code Enforcement Officers to enforce parking and trespassing ordinances in flood control areas within the City.
3 Miles of Road Improvement coming to Rialto
$1.6 million has been awarded for the construction of Blake Street and other roads in Rialto. The project will improve 2.92 miles of roadway through pavement rehabilitation and road treatments, sidewalk repairs, new curb and gutter installation, replacement of curb ramps to meet ADA standards, and the installation of streetlight conduit. Construction is set to begin this fall and is anticipated to be completed by spring 2026.
