$1M in Federal Grants for Glen Helen Regional Park Playground
A $1 million federal grant agreement from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to upgrade the playground at Glen Helen Regional Park.
3 School Resource Officers for Colton Joint Unified School District
The contracts will be extended for one year and will allow for School Resource Officers (SROs) to continue providing campus safety, mentoring, and youth-focused education.
Automated License Plate Readers for Unincorporated Communities of Arrowhead Farms, Bloomington, Rosena Ranch, and Muscoy
35 Automated License Plate Readers will be installed in Arrowhead Farms, Muscoy, and Rosena Ranch totalling $364,750 with 20 being installed in Bloomington for $211,000. These systems will enhance public safety by helping law enforcement identify and track vehicles involved in crimes. The system captures vehicle data only—no facial recognition or personal information is collected.
Kessler Park Statues to Feature Local Students from Bloomington Community
Garner Holt Productions, Inc. has been awarded a $249,400 contract to design, create, and install two life-size statues at Kessler Park. The statues—a boy baseball player and a girl softball player—will honor local youth sports and foster community pride through public art.
Kessler Park Welcomes Escoto Family Snack Shack
The snack bar at Kessler Park has been renamed the Escoto Family Snack Shack in honor of Edgar and Teresa Escoto’s nearly decade of leadership and volunteer service with Bloomington Little League, recognizing their dedication to enhancing the snack bar and supporting local youth sports and the community.
City of Colton to aid Enforcement of San Bernardino County Flood Control District ordinances
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City of Colton will allow police officers and code enforcement officers to aid in the enforcement of San Bernardino County Flood Control District ordinances related to parking and trespassing on Flood Control District property within Colton’s city limits. Supports public safety and property protection by authorizing local enforcement of district rules on flood control properties such as channels and restricted areas.
