To address the pressing issue of homelessness in our county, we have embarked on a comprehensive set of initiatives with a total funding commitment of $72.7 million. These initiatives are designed to make a substantial impact and provide much-needed support to individuals experiencing homelessness.
These initiatives, supported by diverse funding sources, represent our dedication to addressing homelessness comprehensively. Our goal is to make a significant and lasting impact on this critical issue, ensuring a brighter future for all residents of San Bernardino County.
Pacific Village Phase II Expansion
The Pacific Village Phase II Expansion is a critical component of our efforts. With a funding commitment of $14.7 million, this project is supported by the State Community Care Expansion (CCE) program. It is aimed at expanding our capacity to provide housing and essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Kern Street Adult Residential Facility Expansion
The Kern Street Adult Residential Facility Expansion project, funded with $2.5 million, is supported by the Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention Round 3 (HHAP 3) program. This expansion is crucial in offering housing and support to individuals with mental health challenges who have involvement with the criminal justice system.
Project Roomkey Continuance
Project Roomkey Continuance, with a funding of $3.8 million, is supported by County ARPA for Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Funds (LATCF). This initiative focuses on providing ongoing support and shelter to those experiencing homelessness during the ongoing challenges we face.
County Housing Development Grant
The County Housing Development Grant, supported by one-time discretionary funding of $15 million, plays a pivotal role in creating housing solutions for those in need. This grant contributes significantly to our efforts to combat homelessness.
HOME – American Rescue Plan (ARP)
The HOME – American Rescue Plan (ARP) funding of $12.7 million, provided through ARP for LATC, strengthens our commitment to providing stable housing and support services for individuals experiencing homelessness.
