As part of the first-ever Fifth District Nonprofit of the Year recognition, Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. is also honoring five outstanding nonprofit organizations as 2026 Fab 5 Honorable Mentions, recognizing their exceptional service and impact across the Fifth District.

In its inaugural year, the Nonprofit of the Year program received more than 100 nominations from communities throughout the Fifth District—highlighting the depth of compassion, service, and leadership demonstrated by nonprofit organizations countywide. From these submissions, five additional organizations were selected for honorable mention in recognition of their meaningful and lasting contributions.

“The response to our first Nonprofit of the Year recognition was overwhelming,” said Supervisor Baca. “These Fab 5 organizations represent the heart of service in our communities. While only one organization could be selected as the overall honoree, each of these nonprofits is doing extraordinary work that deserves recognition and appreciation.”
