This holiday season, Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr., teamed up with Diana Higuchi of the DAO Group to turn generosity into joy by adopting Mill Head Start and spreading smiles to local families.

Thanks to this heart-warming partnership, all 92 students at Mill Head Start will receive holiday toys—each one a reminder that their community is thinking of them.

“This is what the season is all about—community, kindness, and showing our children that they are loved and supported,” said Supervisor Baca, Jr. “We are incredibly thankful to Diana Higuchi and the DAO Group for helping us create magical moments for our youngest residents.”

Arlene Molina, Director of Preschool Services, highlighted the impact on families. “Moments like this mean so much to our students and parents. This generosity creates lasting memories and reminds our families that their community truly cares about them.”

San Bernardino Mayor Helen Tran praised the collaboration: “This is what happens when local leaders and community partners come together. Efforts like this uplift families, strengthen our neighborhoods, and show the true spirit of San Bernardino.”

Ms. Higuchi shared , “every child deserves to feel celebrated during the holidays. Being able to support not only the students but their siblings as well makes this experience incredibly special for all of us.”

Mill Center Head Start plays a vital role in preparing young learners for success by providing early education and family-centered services—making it the perfect place for a little extra holiday magic.
