Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. is excited to announce the passing of Assembly Bill 385, a critical piece of legislation authored by Assemblymember James Ramos that safeguards Glen Helen Regional Park for future generations while creating new opportunities for San Bernardino County residents.
“With the signing of AB 385, San Bernardino County has the flexibility to meet the needs of our growing communities while protecting vital parkland,” said Assemblymember James Ramos. “I am grateful to Governor Newsom for recognizing the importance of preserving open space and ensuring our residents continue to have access to places that strengthen health, housing, and community.”
With over 1,300 acres of trails, lakes, picnic areas, and gathering spaces, Glen Helen Regional Park remains one of San Bernardino County’s most important assets.
“This legislation puts our residents first,” Supervisor Baca added. “AB 385 ensures that families will always have safe, accessible, and high-quality park space to enjoy. I want to thank Assemblymember James Ramos for his leadership and partnership in making sure our residents are at the center of this effort. Last October, one of our local papers wrote the Assemblymember was the most productive Inland Empire legislator in the Assembly or Senate. He’s still living up to that reputation.”
AB 385 guarantees that Glen Helen continues to serve families while giving the County the flexibility to pursue projects that strengthen the economy, create jobs, and expand opportunities for the community.
