San Bernardino County Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. has joined forces with the City of Rialto to invest $203,000 in upgrades at the Carl Johnson Center gymnasium, to enhance recreation opportunities for local families.

“Spaces like the Carl Johnson Center are the heart of Rialto,” said Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. “By working together with the City, we’re making sure this gym continues to be a place where residents can stay active, connect, and thrive.”

The project will revitalize the gym by painting the interior walls, resurfacing the floors, replacing outdated winches, and installing new bleachers. These improvements will create a safer, more welcoming environment for youth programs, sports leagues, and community events.

Mayor Joe Baca added: “The Carl Johnson Center has long been a cornerstone of our city. This partnership with the County ensures that our community continues to benefit from high-quality recreational spaces that bring people together.”

Work on the upgrades is expected to begin later this year.
