The Newmark Little League Field is getting ready for a major league upgrade, thanks to a powerful team effort between San Bernardino County and the City of San Bernardino. The field, a longtime hub for youth baseball and community connection, will soon undergo critical improvements that enhance the experience for players and families alike.

“Youth sports build character, discipline, and community pride—and thanks to Supervisor Baca’s support, Newmark Little League will soon have the upgraded facilities our kids deserve,” said City of San Bernardino Mayor Helen Tran.

Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. has stepped up to the plate with a $569,250 investment, covering 75% of the total project cost. The City of San Bernardino is contributing the remaining 25%, reinforcing a shared commitment to supporting youth, recreation, and neighborhood pride.

“This investment is a game-changer for our league and our little league community,” said Newmark Little League President, Michelle Wiles. “The upgrades at Newmark will not only improve the playing experience for our kids but also create a welcoming space where families can gather, and community pride can grow.”

The planned upgrades include repairing the playing field and fencing, installing new shade structures, constructing concrete walkways for improved access, repaving the parking lot, and beautifying the entrance with new landscaping.

“This is more than a field—it’s where memories are made, lessons are learned, and community is built,” said Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. “We’re proud to invest in Newmark Little League and the future of our youth, ensuring they have a safe and vibrant place to play for generations to come.”
