San Bernardino – In a press release issued on November 27, Governor Gavin Newsom announced several committee appointments, including Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Advisory Committee.

This committee serves the Governor, Legislature, and people of California by creating and supporting policies and programs that help young people in the justice system. Its responsibilities include reviewing and giving feedback on grant applications for juvenile justice programs within 30 days, advising the state agency and board on important issues related to helping young people, and helping to develop and review the state’s juvenile justice plan before it is submitted to the supervisory board.

Supervisor Baca, Jr. brings valuable experience to the committee as a former high school teacher, coach, and probation officer. His dedication to improving the lives of young people provide him with a unique understanding of the programs and policies that can have a meaningful impact on their futures.

“I’m honored to join the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Advisory Committee,” said Supervisor Baca, Jr. “I’ve seen how important it is to give our youth the tools and support they need to succeed. I’m excited to work with the Governor and my fellow committee members.”
