Bloomington, CA. – San Bernardino Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr. to host a monument unveiling ceremony honoring Garylee Mendoza, who was a devoted California District 21 Administrator umpire-in chief for 23 years and president of Bloomington Little League for two years. Gary used to say, “if he could only help keep one more kid off the street and show them that someone does care, then he did his job.” Gary was an inspiration and his commitment to our Bloomington Little League has touched families through decades and will never be forgotten. This monument is meant to honor his legacy and show the appreciation our community will always have towards his service. We will also be installing personalized benches honoring Evric Gray, retired New Jersey Nets NBA player; Mike Ashman, current batting practice pitcher of the Anaheim Angels and recently retired head coach of Cal Poly Pomona’s baseball team; Lonell Roberts, retired MLB player and 11-year minor league coach, who all just so happen to be dedicated Bloomington High alumnus. This event will take place on January 15th, 2022, at Kessler Park, in the unincorporated area of Bloomington. The ceremony is to begin at 10 a.m.
and conclude at 11 a.m.
